Awareness can prevent AC related accidents: IEB speakers at seminar
Eighteen million people live in the country. As a result of human growth and globalization, the temperature of the country is increasing continuously. The use of heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration is increasing accidents in this country. Air conditioning and refrigeration has become a growing industry in Bangladesh. Millions of people are involved in this employment. This industry needs to be further developed through awareness and safety.
The speakers opined so while speaking at a seminar on 'Utilization of Heating, Air-Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration for Humanity' at the IEB Council Hall in the capital Ramna on Thursday (July 26) organized by the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
IEB President Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur attended the seminar as the guest of honor.
Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur said the country needs to do more research and development in heating, air-conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration. Its importance has also been given in the country's budget. In addition to the government, private organizations should come forward in research and development, only then it will be possible to build a developed and smart Bangladesh.
IEB General Secretary Engineer S.M. Manzurul Haque Manzur delivered the welcome address.
In the welcome speech, S.M. Manjurul Haque Manzur said, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration issues are very timely and important. Any mishap in these matters can be dealt with only by good control of efficient engineering system.
IEB Vice President Engineer Md Nuruzzaman, Engineer Khandkar Manjur Morshed and Elite Hi-tech Industry Limited Engineer Md Noor A. Alam spoke as special guests.
Engineer Md. Hasmatuzzaman presented the main article in the seminar and Prof. Dr. Engineer Md. Ehsan was the honorable speaker.
Engineer Ahsan Bin Bashar, chairman of the Mechanical Department presided over the function while the Editor Engineer Suman Das conducted the seminar and the note of thanks was delivered by Engineer Masud Rana.
IEB Honorary General Secretary Engineer Abul Kalam Hazari, Engineer Amit Kumar Chakraborty, IEB Dhaka Center Editor Engineer Nazrul Islam, Computer Techniques Section Editor Tanveer Mahmudul Hasan, Electrical Techniques Section Editor Engineer Imran etc. were also present.
Speakers say most of the city's fire accidents are caused by defects in heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration. Building codes must be followed to control these defects. Various codes can be used to prevent errors. Awareness can reduce these heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration related accidents.
